Now you are in Cebu city, bought some snorkeling gear you definitely head up for some snorkeling at Lapu-Lapu! I’ve listed some really neat snorkeling places near Cebu city.
Portofino beach resort @ Lapu-Lapu (Mactan island)

Portofino beach resort is easy to reach from Cebu city. Portofino is a very nice beach resort with a small shop to buy icecream and drinks including beer. They even have a small restaurant where you can order some really delicious side dishes.

The beach resort exists out of two small beaches. The main beach can be busy in weekends. The second beach will be your private beach if you go on weekdays. The second beach has alot of stones so a pair of surfing shoes or flippers will be very comfortable.

While snorkeling in the waters at Portofino you will see plenty of tropical fish, some areas with beautiful corals like the famous braincoral. After snorkeling you can enjoy some dishes from the restaurant on the beach.

Entrance in 2012 is, 90 pesos per head on weekdays and 110 pesos per head on weekends. Beer and drinks are kinda expensive so you can decide to bring your own icebox filled with the goodstuff 🙂

To get there take a Jeep from Parkmall to Maribago on Mactan island. Just tell the conducteur you want to get off at Portofino beach resort.

By taxi is most comfortable, again tell the taxi driver Maribago, Portofino beach resort. Most taxidrivers will know this place. If not, or they are not sure take another taxi. Sometimes they ask 50 pesos more. Forget it, jump in to another taxi. (Ken taxi’s are very good) The taxi fair depends on traffic, but from Ayala with not too much traffic it will be around 200 pesos.
